Once a year, B1G1 conducts a review of each Worthy Cause on the B1G1 platform. During this review, we not only review their finances but we also review the projects they have with us. If you would like to know more about this and the reason behind status changes, please have a look at this article by our Founder Masami Sato.
The project could have been delisted for a few reasons including:
- Projects have temporarily become overfunded
Some projects may have temporarily received sufficient funds for the number of planned interventions (e.g. number of houses to build). We pause fundraising for these projects to ensure that your giving goes towards the projects you have chosen to support.
- Projects are not receiving enough support
Since remittances are only made above a certain amount, it may not be worthwhile for our Worthy Cause partners to keep expending resources in providing us with updates when they are barely receiving support through us.
- Worthy Cause Partners have revised their strategies and methods
Like most businesses, our Worthy Cause partners also make changes and improvements in their work. This results in changes to their strategies and needs, leading to the revision of some projects they list with B1G1.
